Our inspiration for Skandl Fjord comes from the island fishing community of Veiholmen, North-West Norway.

We have grown oysters at Butley Creek since the 1950’s and our traditional smokehouse supplies freshly smoked fish every day, whilst out fishing boats provide a variety of locally caught fresh fish.

The sea has it. It’s a world of diversity, colour, strangeness and beauty. Its flavours are what we celebrate. Delicate or bold, wild or farmed, we’re slaves to its wonder and mystery.

Since the 1700's the Haward family have been cultivating oysters in and around the creeks of Mersea Island, Essex. We are a small business producing what we believe to be a remarkable oyster.

Our Fishery is on the shore of Pyefleet Creek on Mersea Island off the coast of Essex, where oysters have been farmed since Roman times. Our oysters lay on the river bed roaming with the mineral rich, brackish tides.
